The Lachlan Shire is nestled in the Heart of NSW and the rural lifestyle setting brings out the charm of the country which is reflected in the historic buildings, local identities, and has even inspired poetry such as Banjo Patterson’s ‘Clancy of the Overflow’.
The Lachlan Shire is managed by Lachlan Shire Council and is in partnership with Sister-City Penrith.
Hosting the ‘RV Friendly Towns’ of Condobolin and Lake Cargelligo and the villages of Tottenham, Tullibigeal, Burcher, Albert, Derriwong and Fifield, the Lachlan Shire provides a wealth of history and rural attractions.
Across the Shire there are many annual and biennial events dotted throughout the year such as the Tattoo (bagpipe extravaganza), Winter B&S Ball, Lake Cargelligo Fisherama, Blue Waters Art Exhibition, Condobolin PBR, Agricultural Shows, Gymkhanas, Picnic Races, Dog Shows, The Condo 750 and Yellow Mountain Auto Sports cross country rallies, just to name a few, that are unique and entertaining for visitors and locals alike.
Some of the attractions featured in the Shire are Mt Tilga, Lake Cargelligo, Utes in the Paddock, Albert’s Rabbit Trap Pub, King’s Grave and Condobolin’s Gum Bend Lake.
